Shimla players allege ill-treatment in Assam

In anutter unfortunate incident, the sub-junior baseball players from outside Assamalleged that they were provided with poor reception in Guwahati. The playershave come to take part in the ongoing National Sub-Junior Baseball Championshipat the Nehru Stadium and Judges Field in the city. The competition has started onJuly 13 and will conclude on July 17.

Thejunior players from Shimla have alleged that the organizers did not providefood to them. They further said that they were allotted in a very unhygienicroom, where they have spent the entire night. The organizers reportedlyallotted TC Government Girls' School in Guwahati. The junior players have spentthe night at the veranda of the school.

Meanwhile,the host of the competition, Assam Baseball Association, has spent lakhs ofrupees on banners and hoardings to give a gimmick to the competition, but havenot provided the basic facilities to the junior players, who have come to takepart in the competition.
