Sikkim : BJP Becomes Main Opposition

The BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) has finally made its foray into Sikkim while extending itsinfluence in the Northeast region after as many as ten opposition MLAsbelonging to the SDF party joined the saffron party.

The BJPnow has become the main opposition in the state and needs only four more MLAsto form the Sikkim Government.

GaneshKumar Rai, the Spokesperson of the SDF party, while reacting to this said thatsomeone has rightly said that nothing is permanent but change. "Today's news of10 SDF MLAs who joined BJP is nothing unnatural as the saffron party continuesto bolster its ranks. They thought that joining in BJP is in the best interest ofthe state considering the present political scenario of the state," Rai said.

He laterwished the leaders saying that they will continue to work for the state andleave no stone unturned to shoulder the responsibility of constructiveopposition party.

Meanwhile,Sikkim Chief Minister PS Golay has requested the Election Commission (EC) towaive off his disqualification from contesting polls.
