Pratidin Bureau

Apart from Jorhat, places like Sivasagar and Sonari are so far safe from COVID-19. The situation of COVID-19 in Jorhat, Guwahati and Golaghat is quite serious and worthy of concern.

This was informed by Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while visiting Sonari to take stock of the measures taken by Charaideo District Administration to fight against the virus.

Sarma also announced about the MLA of Sonari Nabanita Handique being infected by COVID-19.

He ordered everyone who came in contact with the MLA to go for Antigen tests.

It is to be noted that Jorhat Administration, due to the alarming scenario, has extended the lockdown.

Guwahati, however, will see certain relaxations from 7 pm of July 19. These relaxations will be in force for two weeks.
