Sivasagar becomes first district to have ‘e-office’

Pratidin Bureau

Sivasagar district has become the first district in Assam to have 'e-office' where all work would be carried out in the digital mode. Upper Assam Divisional Commissioner Julie Sonowal formally launched e-office (e-file management system) at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar.

With the benefit of having zero maintenance cost, the system will not only provide full confidentiality of the office files, but will also save us from the worries of space management.

e-office is a Mission Mode Project developed and designed by National Informatics Centre (NIC). e-office was first implemented by Government of Assam at the Assam Secretariat in 2017. Later, it was extended to the Directorate, Commissionerate, attached offices and districts levels. The Secretariat Administration Department (SAD) is the Nodal Department of the project in Government of Assam.
