Sivasagar: Police demand money from deceased’s family

Tensedsituation in Sivasagar Civil Hospital, after Police allegedly demanded moneyfrom the family of a deceased on Saturday night. The family members alsoalleged that they were heckled by the on duty police officers in the Hospital.

Accordingto reports, one identified as Munni Gowala was admitted to the hospital withserious injuries, but she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday evening.Following her death, a police officer allegedly demanded Rs. 1200 from herfamily and threatened them with false cases.

Whilethe family member refused to pay the amount the police officer allegedlymisbehaved with them.

Meanwhile,the family members of the deceased lodged an FIR at the Jaisagar Police Stationregarding the incident.
