Smooth traffic in Guwahati during President Kovind trip

President of India Ram Nath Kovind is scheduled to visit Assam today (November 28). The President will be on a two-day visit to the state from tomorrow.

Police said efforts were underway to ensure smooth traffic management during the visit of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind in Guwahati from Wednesday to Thursday.

As per reports on November 28, the movement of all heavy vehicles on the National Highway 37 and 27 shall be restricted from 12.00 noon till completion of programme of the day.

On November 29, the movement of all heavy commercial vehicles shall be restricted on National Highway 27 & 37 on November 29 from 6.00 AM till the completion of the programme of the day.

No commercial vehicles, small/medium/heavy shall ply on DG Road, MG Road, AT Road, RGB Road from 12.00 noon till completion of the programme on November 28 and from 6.00 am on November 29 till completion of programme.

No vehicles shall be allowed to park on the road on both sides from National Highway 37, from Airport to Gauhati University bypass and Jalukbari Rotary.

No parking zone: On DG Road, from Jalukbari to Bharalumukh; On MG Road, from Bharalumukh to Raj Bhawan; National Highway 37, from Khanapara to Jalukbari; National Highway Service Road from Airport to Khanapara.

Kovind will be in Guwahati's Borjhar to participate in a special programme organised by Indian Air Force (IAF).

According to reports, IAF has planned a colourful event with 118 helicopters.

President will be present at the event to boost the morale of the helicopter unit.
