Sonowal confident of winning 12 seats

Pratidin Bureau

Assam Chief Minister and BJP leader Sarbananda Sonowal today oozed confidence of winning 12 of the 14 Lok Sabha constituency of Assam.

He was talking to media after attending nomination submission occasion of Rameshwar Teli at Dibrugarh along with Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Dr Sharma, smarting after the humiliation by the party high command of denying ticket, however, played cool and added that the party candidates would do well.

Mr Sonowal and Mr Sharma made it a point to be with Rameswar Teli as there speculation in the media that Dr Sharma would go slow after the snubbing.

Last night BJP President Amit Shah tried to placate Dr Sharma with a tween which was responded by Dr Sharma also accepting the responsibility of the NEDA.

"But what is mist funny point that as NEDA convenor Dr Sarma can not contest but as a national party president Amit Shah can contest from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency" quipped a BJP senior functionary close to Dr Sharma's group.

Meanwhile, the BJP has zeroed in on Pallab Lochan Das as the most likely candidate for Tezpur constituency. Although the BJP has not yet officially announced but the party insiders confirmed that Pallab Lochan Das will be a candidate for Tezpur and Roopak Sharma for Nagaon.
