Sports Minister sanctions Rs 5 lakh aid for medical treatment of Assam archer Gohela Boro

Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore on Monday sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to National Level Archer from Assam, Gohela Boro for her medical treatment.

Gohela Boro is suffering from systemic lupus erythematosus combined with other multiple disorders.

The financial assistance has been given from Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay National Welfare Fund for Sportspersons. This is in addition to financial assistance of over Rs. 3.37 lakh already provided to her upto January this year.

Gohela Boro hails from village Amguri in Kokrajhar district of Assam.

The talented archer started her career in 2008 at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) campus in Kokrajhar in the sport of archery. Since then, she has won a total of 72 medals at various national, state and district level competitions.
