A late night heavy rain storm lashed several parts across the state on Tuesday. Leaving a trail of destruction, the storm has claimed two lives, demolished houses, uprooted trees obstructing communication on the highways. Electricity has also been cut off in several areas pertaining to the storm.

Some ofthe areas affected by the storm are Tingkhang in Tinsukia, Majuli, Gosaigaon,Goalpara and Charaideo.

Two childrenlost their lives in Tinsukia after a tree fell on their roof as a result of thefierce storm. A mother, her son and daughter were injured in Gosaigaon, whowere later admitted to the hospital.

Singingsensation Zubeen Garg music performance also had to be stopped mid-way due tothe storm in Charaideo's Sonari Baruanagar.
