Storm wreaks havoc in various parts of Assam

Various parts of Assam were affected by storm last night, which led to difficulty in communication in the state.

A massive tree fell on NH 37 at Bokakhat as a result of which hundreds of vehicles were stranded during the night. It was later cleared by Traffic Police this morning.

Reports have also been received of numerous households being destroyed at Jogighopa.

Electricity supply has also been affected in many areas.

Storm also took a destructive turn at Hojai where an individual Shyamal Dhar's home and shop were destroyed; his family had a narrow escape.
