Swine Flu victim dies in Meghalaya

A 58-year-old woman from Arbuthnot in Meghalaya with swine flu (H1N1 virus) has died on Sunday.

As per reports, the patient was admitted at Nazareth Hospital on October 17.

The patient had clear symptoms of swine flu with fever, cough, weakness and respiratory distress.

Health Secretary Pravin Bakshi has alerted all the hospitals to be ready for further treatments. Speaking about the capabilities of dealing with the disease, Bakshi said the state has adequate Tamiflu tablets for treating H1N1. He added, "There were only two cases and we are operationally ready to tackle the situation."
