Tarun Gogoi slams Himanta in Press Conference

Pratidin Bureau

Former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi blasted State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a press Conference on Thursday and said "Himanta, who was once an  All Assam Students Union (AASU) leader, joined Congress and how he is in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), no one knows where he will go tomorrow".

Gogoi raised the linkage of Himanta with the Sharda , Louis Berger scams following which he was also interrogated by CBI in Kolkata.

Gogoi also slammed the Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal and said that Sonowal talks about anti corruption keeping the corrupt Sarma beside him.

Talking about the missing Centre- ULFA(I)  mediator Rebati Phukan, Gogoi alleged that Phukan has been a victim  of secret killing. He would have been in contact with his family if he was alive, stated Gogoi.

Gogoin also rubbished the rumor of Rebati Phukan joining ULFA(I) as its  General Secretary and said Phukan's stratum is much more than that.

An Assamese daily newspaper said that as per the outfit's norms, Rebati Phukan has taken an organizational name as Jyotisman Asom alias RP alias Agni. Mr. Phukan alias Jyotisman Asom is appointed as the permanent General Secretary of ULFA(I).

Raising his concern about the deteriorating  law and order situation in the state Gogoi said, "During Congresses regime the members of the banned outfits came to mainstream, whereas the youth's now a days are inclined towards ULFA(I) and other militant organisations".
