Teachers won't be appointed in madrassas unless they have cleared TET.

The Gauhati High Court on Monday directed the state education department to conduct the Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) for appointing teachers to all madrassas in the state from now onwards.

As per the mandate of RTE Act, the Government of Assam, Department of Elementary Education decided to conduct Teachers' Eligibility Test with the objective of recruiting meritorious and qualified teachers following the guidelines and norms of National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE).
