The Mangaldoi police, in an operation carried out under the leadership of Darrang Superintendent of Police Amit Bhuyan, arrested three bike-lifters and recovered two stolen bikes from their possession.

The arrested thieves have been identified as Sarabari's Bipul Sarma, Bezpara's Ajit Deka, and Bolonghat's Mithun Boro.

The police also recovered one completely demolished bike from Mithun Boro's residence.

It may be mentioned that out of the trio, Bipul Sarma is known for such petty crimes and he has been arrested several times on a number of occasions previously as well.
