In another incident of police encounter in Assam, a murder accused was shot at while fleeing police custody at Margherita in Tinsukia.

The accused Vikram Das was booked for the murder of his nephew Rahul Das over family and land dispute.

Das who was shot on his left leg has been admitted to Margherita Civil Hospital.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
