A 52-year-old private tutor has been booked under the stringent Pocso Act for allegedly molesting a 12-year-old student at his residence at Ganga Niwas in Adabari of the city.

The name of the accused teacher is Manish Shikder.

According to police sources, 'the teacher was molesting the student from quite some time and from few days the student avoided going for his private lessons, when the pupil narrated the incident to her parents. They at first decided not to lodge any complain but a NGO 'UTSHA' conducted an enquiry and from its findings today lodged a case No 1387/18 under POCSO act at the Jalukbari Police station'.
