2 die in Chandigarh-Dibrugarh train fire

The Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express caught fire near Siliguri in West Bengal today. Two passengers have been reportedly dead as they jumped out of the moving train.

The incident had taken place on the train going to Dibrugarh at around 11.18 am near the Chaterhaat Railway Station. News agency IANS reported that the fire started from the engine damaging the adjoining coach.

"Two passengers have died after jumping out of the moving train. There is no report of any other casualty or injury," IANS quoted a fire official.

`The fire department was able to douse fire by 12.35 pm. However, eyewitnesses have claimed that there were several people with injuries.
