Two more arrested in connection with Biswanath incident

The Assam police on Wednesday evening arrested two more accused in connection with the infamous Biswanath Chariali beef assault case.

The arrested have been identified as Durgeswar Bora alias Manuguti and Indukalpa Bora. Durgeswar is a resident of Madhupur area of Biswanath town, while Indukalpa is a resident of Bhir Gaon.

Earlier, the Biswanath police have arrested three others- Dipen Baruah, Dipak Kewal and Subhash Kewal in connection with the incident.

A 48-year-old Muslim man was beaten up and harassed by a mob for allegedly selling beef in Biswanath Chariali on Sunday.
