Ugratara Temple Loot: Six accused arrested

The Assam Police have so far arrested six persons in connection with the sensational theft at the Ugratara temple in Guwahati.  The arrested were identified as Honey Singh alias Suraj Basfor, Raju Basfor, Babu Basfor, Rohit Singh, Tinku Ali and Hamerul Nesa.

Honey, Raju, Babu and Rohit were the thieves who were caught on CCTV. On the other hand, Tinku Ali was an employee of a scrapyard, who had taken the idol of the Ugratara Devalaya from the four thieves. The sixth arrested person Hamerul Nesa was the owner of the scrapyard.

The four thieves — Honey, Raju, Babu and Rohit have confessed to their crime and claimed that Honey Singh was the mastermind of the sensational incident. The arrested thieves further confessed that they have finalized the deal with Tinku Ali to stole the main idol on Rs. 7000.

However, police are yet to recover the idol.
