ULFA (I) and NSCN (K) jointly claims responsibility of ambush in Nagaland

ULFA (Independent) faction leader Paresh Baruah on Monday informed that the ambush on a team of Assam Rifles and Territorial Army jawans at Aboi in Mon district in Nagaland had been carried out jointly by ULFA (I) and NSCN (K), a banned Naga militant outfit.

"According to our ground reports four of their jawans have been killed and about six have been injured and were able to recover some guns and weapons." said Baruah.

The Assam Rifles personnel who died on the spot have been identified as Havildar Fateh Singh Negi and Sepoy Hungnga Konyak.

On Sunday, an Assam Rifles official said that two Assam Rifles personnel have been killed and four others have suffered severe injuries, who are undergoing treatment at the Army hospital in Jorhat, in the ambush by the Naga insurgents near Aboi in Mon district.
