A dreaded United Liberation Front of Assam-Independent  (ULFA –I) cadre has been arrested by Jorhat Police on Monday. Dewal Jyoti Dutta alias Dewal Asom has been arrested from Jorhat's Bahna by the police.

Dewal is said the be the bodyguard of ULFA-I's Deputy Commander in Chief Dristy Rajkhowa.

The cadre joined the banned outfit on 8 May 2017 and was trained in Bangladesh and Meghalaya according to police.

At a time when the proscribed United Liberation Front of Assam-Independent (ULFA-I) has gained footprints in parts of Upper Assam, police finally made its progression by apprehending the cadre of the outfit at Jorhat here tonight.
