Water levels rising again in lower Assam

When the recedingwaters of the rivers in lower Assam gave the flood affected some respite fromthe worst deluge, sudden rise in the water levels has terrified the peopleagain.

In Bajali, Kaldiya River has taken a devastating form from Monday. The rising waters has flooded Akaya village once again. Now, the water is flowing with strong currents through the broken Akaya embankment.

Simultaneously,the water level of the Pahumara River is also rising.

It has been alleged that the sudden spate in rivers is due to incessant rains and Bhutan releasing the excessive water.
