Pratidin Bureau

A young woman has accused the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu of rape charges.

According to reports, the woman had first registered a complaint in the National Commission for Women however, based on the verdict of the lower court, the commission rejected the complaint.

Now, the women has filed an application to hear her case either in the Delhi High Court or the Supreme Court. The alleged victim has also applied to provide her security and protection.

The woman has alleged that Khandu and three of his acquaintances had raped her in Tawang Circuit House in 2008.

It may be noted that the woman's accusation just days before the elections is quite crucial.
