In a sensational incident in Nagaon, a woman was gang-raped in a moving car by four men. The woman was on her way to Golaghat  from Lanka with her boyfriend on a motorcycle.  Four men traveling in an Alto car reportedly intercepted the bike near Nagaon and forced her into the vehicle.

Later the victim was dumped on the National Highway (NH)-37. A truck driver of an oil tanker rescued the woman from the highway and reported the incident to the Jakhalabandha police.

The woman is undergoing treatment  at the Nagaon Civil Hospital for trauma and severe injuries in her private parts. The victim is a resident of Lanka and was working in a local dhaba.
