WPT & BC launches investigation against Tiwa Autonomous Council

The Departmentof Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes (WPT & BC) has launched aninvestigation against Tiwa Autonomous Council over corruption charges.

Theinvestigation is being headed by WPT & BC Joint Commissioner Bibhash Modi.

TheCouncil has been directed to submit all its accounts to the department.

It maybe noted that all the developmental works are stopped until the investigationis over.

Earlier,a complaint had been registered, pertaining to corruption in the year 2017-18,with the Morigaon Police superintendent.

The ChiefExecutive Officer has been accused of pocketing a large amount of fund whichsums to around Rupees 35 crore.
