Zubeen Garg Donates ₹1 Lakh To CM Relief Fund For Boosting Covid Vaccination Drive

In an attempt to enhance the Covid-19 vaccination drive, Assam icon Zubeen Garg has contributed Rupees one lakh to the CM Relief Fund.

The renowned singer along with the representatives of Brindaban Supermart donated the amount.

Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked them for this act of goodwill.

"In a bid to strengthen the ongoing #COVID19 vaccination drive, renowned singer Sri @zubeengarg1along with representatives of Brindaban Supermart contributed Rs 1 lakh to CM Relief Fund. CM Dr @himantabiswathanked them for this act of goodwill," Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister on Thursday last announced one-time financial assistance of Rs 2.5 lakh for every woman in the state who has lost her husband to Covid-19.

CM Sarma said that this financial assistance will be provided from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

"Covid widows will also be entitled to the benefits of the Orunodoi scheme and they will receive monthly widow pension under the ongoing Indira Miri Universal Widow Pension Scheme," Himanta Biswa Sarma stated.
