Zubeen shouldn’t raise irrelevant issues : Ranjit Das

Pratidin Bureau

Assam Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Ranjit Das took a jibe at Assam's heartthrob Zubeen Garg and said he must not raise insubstantial issues.

It is to be mentioned that Zubeen recently penned an open letter to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to scrap the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. Zubeen also demanded CM Sonowal to return the votes that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had got during the last assembly election using a song that was sung by him.

Speaking about  Zubeen "ready to refund the remuneration", Das said that the people of Assam loves Zubeen and that's the sole reason he was chosen to sing Assam BJP's campaign song for 2016 elections.

He further said that the late maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika also sang on many occasions without remuneration.

Talking about the recent influx of Assam youths in United Liberation Front of Assam  (ULFA) , Das made a surprising remark and said that in a land of 3 crore people, a few joing ULFA doesn't matter

Assamese heartthrob Zubeen Gard have been vocal against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 since the beginning and have been opposing it fiercely.
