12 Mizoram Youths To Represent NE In India Skills Competition 2021

A total of 12 Mizoram youths will be representing the Northeast in India Skills competition which will be held in Bengaluru in December.

The 12 youths, who are well versed in different skill sets, have qualified for the event during the Eastern India Zone Skills competition held in Bihar's Patna between October 20 and 22.

Among the 12 participants, three of them won by walkover at the competition as there were no other opponents in their chosen trade.

The youths showcased their skill sets in 11 different trades namely – Bakery, Beauty Therapy, Hair Dressing, Electrical Installation, Welding, Carpentry, Fashion Technology, Painting & Decoration, Floristry, Hotel Reception and Plumbing & Heating.

Around 245 youths from 8 states and UTs from the East and Northeast regions participated in the Bengaluru skill competition.

The event was organised by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Winners of the India Skills competition will qualify for the World Skills Competition which will be held in China's Shanghai in October next year.
