17 Dead in Massive Fire at Hotel in Delhi

In a tragic incident at least 17 people were killed and several were injured after a massive fire engulfed a hotel in Delhi's Karol Bagh area on Tuesday morning. Among the deceased there are seven men, a woman and a child. As per reports, most of the deaths took place due to suffocation.

At least 26 fire engines were sent to the spot after the fire broke out on the fourth and fifth floor of Hotel Arpit Palace around 4 am.

The cause of the fire, prima facie, is a short circuit. The fire was brought under control around 7 am.The fire fighters rescued thirty-five injured people and they were rushed to nearby hospitals.

Police have started investigation of the incident.
