4 terrorists killed in an encounter in J&K

Security forces gunned down four terrorists on Friday morning during an encounter at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.

The operationwas jointly launched by Army, police and CRPF in Pulwama after they receivedinformation about the presence of terrorists there, according to policeofficial.

The policefurther informed that the terrorsists reportedly belong to Jaish-e-Mohammad. Theencounter came days after a woman was shot dead by terrorists at her home inthe district.

On June 5, awoman was killed while another person injured as unidentified gunmen attackedthem in a village in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.

In the firstfive months of the year, security forces have killed 101 militants in counter-terroroperations acting on intelligence inputs provided by their informants on theground. In 2018 and 2017, from January till May security forces had managed tokill 70 and 57 militants respectively.

Report saysthat most of the counter-terror operations were executed in four districts ofSouth Kashmir- Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag.
