Army Chief takes stock of Kashmir’s security situation

With Jammu and Kashmir being under restrictions for the 26th day, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat today visited Srinagar to take stock of the overall security situation in the Kashmir valley.

According to reports, Rawat is slated to inspect operational preparedness of armed forces along Line of Control in the valley. At the same time, he will also review overall issues pertaining to counter militant and counter infiltration operations. 

The Army Chief has been accompanied by top army commanders in his visit along Line of Control in North Kashmir districts.

It may be noted that it is Gen. Rawat's first visit to the valley following the abrogation of Article 370.
