Assam Rifles Seized Foreign Cigarettes Worth Rs 67.6 Lakh In Mizoram

Troopers of Assam Rifles seized foreign-origin cigarettes worth Rs 67.60 lakh in Mizoram's Champhai district on Tuesday.

The seizure was made during an operation by the Aizawl Battalion of HQ 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) based on specific information.

As many as 52 cases of foreign-origin cigarettes were seized during the operation.

The approximate cost of the recovered foreign-origin cigarette is Rs 67,60,000, HQ IGAR (East) informed.

Assam Rifles then handed over the seized contraband items to the Customs department in Champhai for further legal proceedings.
