Army Chief Bipin Rawat on Monday said that the terror camp in Pakistan's Balakot bombed by India in February had been reactivated very recently and that about 500 terrorists were waiting to infiltrate into India.

Speakingto reporters at the Officers Training Academy at Chennai, Rawat said, "Balakothas been re-activated by Pakistan very recently. This shows Balakot wasaffected, it was damaged, it highlights some action was taken by the Indian AirForce at Balakot and now they have got the people back there."

TheArmy Chief's comments come days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi is toaddress the United Nations General Assembly.

On February26, a dozen French-origin Mirage 2000 jets of the Indian Air Force penetrateddeep inside Pakistan and bombed the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad camp inresponse to a terror attack in which a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb neara convoy of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Jammu andKashmir's Pulwama, killing 40 soldiers.
