Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar joins Congress

Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar has finally joined Congress Party today and likely to take on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Gopal Shetty. It is to be noted that she is the second Bollywood star to contest the Mumbai North seat after Govinda. Taking to Twitter, Urmila Matondkar has confirmed that she has joined Congress and called Congress President Rahul Gandhi India's next Prime Minister.

Notably, Mumbai North constituency was once considered to be BJP bastion has always proved a tough constituency. Hence, Congress has fielded Urmila Matondkar to defeat the powerful leader Gopal Shetty. Earlier, Congress had fielded Govinda from the same constituency, who defeated senior BJP MP Ram Naik in 2004.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi welcomed Urmila Matondkar in his party.
