CAA: Educational Institutions In Delhi To Remain Closed Today

Amid the rising protest in Assam against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), protests have also erupted in Delhi and heated situation aroused in the national capital.

Allthe educational institutions in Delhi will remain closed on Monday amid the risingprotests against CAA.

The students of Jamia Milia University have staged protests against CAA in solidarity with the ongoing protests in the state. The students of Delhi University and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) have also participated in the protests.

Untowardincidents took place amid the protests as a result of which police have to uselathi charge and opened blank fire.

Accordingto reports, 35 students were injured and hundreds have been detained by police.Police apprehended the students from the university campus and during the clashbetween the police and the students, six police personnel have also beeninjured.

The students of JMU have also gheraoed the police headquarters in New Delhi and thousands of protestors have come to the streets to protest against the CAA.

16metro stations have also been closed down in Delhi while internet service willbe suspended till 10 PM on Monday at Aligarh Muslim University and theuniversity will remain closed till January 5, 2020.
