CBI Conducts Raid in 110 Places

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) hasconducted searches at 110 places across 19 states in its probe on cases ofcorruption and criminal misconduct.

A CBI official said that in a nationwide action, ithas conducted searches at around 110 places in 19 States/Union Territories andhas registered 30 separate cases post operation relating to corruption,criminal misconduct and arms smuggling.

The official also said that searches were beingconducted in various cities including Delhi, Bharatpur, Mumbai, Chandigarh,Jammu, Srinagar, Pune, Jaipur, Goa, Kanpur, Raipur, Hyderabad, Madurai,Kolkata, Rourkela, Ranchi, Bokaro, Lucknow and other places in Uttar Pradesh,Uttarakhand, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh,Karnataka and Bihar.

The CBI also searched premises of 13 companies andbank officials across the country earlier this month for alleged bank fraudsamounting to Rs. 1,139 crores.
