Chidambaram’s judicial custody extended

Former Union finance minister P Chidambaram's judicial custody has been extended in the INX Media money laundering case. A special CBI court at Delhi's Rouse Avenue Complex on Wednesday extended the judicial custody of Chidambaram till December 11. The case has been investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The union minister was arrestedby the ED on October 16 and subsequently sent to judicial custody by the courtin Tihar jail till November 27. On Wednesday, the former union minister waspresented before the court.

Earlier, the High Court onNovember 15 had dismissed Chidambaram's bail plea. Later, he moved the SupremeCourt challenging the HC order. He was first arrested by the CBI on August 21in the INX Media corruption case but later granted bail by the SC two months later.
