Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday expressed regret over his remarks related to Rafale fighter jet deal verdict by Supreme Court.

The apex court had earlier sought explanation from Congress chief over his remark that the court in its verdict agreed that Prime Minister "committed a theft".

He said the comment was made in the heat of campaign as well as his and his party's stand that "Chowkidar Chor hai".

On April 15, the top court had made it clear that the remarks by Rahul Gandhi on the verdict was incorrectly attributed to the court.
