Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat onThursday courted controversy by claiming that cow is the only animal whichinhales and exhales oxygen. The CM also claimed that breathing problems can becured by massaging a cow.

"Cow is the only animal that both inhales and exhales oxygen. This is why we have given it the status of the mother," Rawat was seen saying in a video that went viral. "Breathing problems can be cured by massaging cows, and tuberculosis can be cured by living in proximity with them," he further said.

It may be mentioned here that earlier today, the Uttarakhand CM took stock of the prevailing flood situation in Assam and announced that his government would contribute Rs. 5 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
