Delhi | Metro & Bus Travel Free for Women

The Delhi Government is planning to make travelling for women free in metro and buses is going to bear the loss of revenue that Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Delhi Transport Corporation would face due to this decision.

State Transport minister Kailash Gahlot held a meeting with DMRC officials and asked them to submit a proposal on how they can facilitate free travel for women and what would be the cost for it.

Though, it is not possible to exactly calculate the revenue loss that the DMRC would suffer, said a DMRC official.

According to the sources, around 30 lakh passengers travel by Delhi Metro every day.
