FIR against MLA Kuldeep Sengar

Following the Rae Bareli road accident of the Unnao rape survivor on Monday, an FIR has been lodged against BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, his 9 associates and 20 unknown persons.

The case has been registered in Gurubaksh Ganj Police Station based on the complaint given by the rape survivor's uncle Mahesh Singh, who also is lodged in Rae Bareli jail.

According to the FIR, the police personnel, who had been in charge of the security of the rape survivor, had informed jailed Sengar of her movements and alleged of being responsible for the accident.

The FIR also stated that the family was constantly being pressurised to withdraw the case.

BJP MLA Kuldeep Sing Sengar, his brother Manoj Singh Sengar and 8 others have been charged with various sections of IPC including murder, attempt to murder and criminal conspiracy along with 15 to 20 unknown persons in FIR.

The rape survivor's mother claimed that the accident was a trap laid to eliminate the victim and others. Forensic teams are also investigating whether a car crash was accident or death trap by the truck whose registration plate painted black.

Police have arrested the truck driver and the owner. Meanwhile, the state government has announced free treatment for the injured victim.

The teenager and her lawyer are critically injured and her two aunts have died in the accident. The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday has decided to handover the investigation of the road accident to the CBI.
