Former AAP Minister Kapil Mishra Joins BJP

Former minister in the Arvind Kejriwal government anddisqualified MLA Kapil Mishra along with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) women's wingChief Richa Pandey joind Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday.

BJP National Vice Pesident Shyam Jaju and Delhi unitPresident Manoj Tiwari welcomed the duo at the party's office on Pant Marg.

After the joining programme, Tiwari said that hewelcomed Mishra and Pandey into the party saying that he hoped they will serveDelhi by following the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and philosophyDeen Dayal Upadhyay and Syama Prasad Mookerjee.

Mishra has been disqualified earlier this month byDelhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel under the anti-defection law after hecampaigned for the BJP during the Lok Sabha elections in May.

Mishra, who was elected from Karawalnagar seat haschallenged his disqualification in Delhi High Court.

Speculations over Mishra joining the BJP were makingrounds since he started criticizing the AAP supremo after being removed as aminister in May 2017.
