Govt. To issue New Rs. 75 Coin

On Tuesday, the central government announced launch of a new unique coin in Rs. 75 denomination to commemorate the seventy fifth anniversary of India's flag hoisting for the first time by Subhash Chandra Bose at Port Blair.

As per reports, "The coin of seventy-five rupees denomination shall only be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the central government on the occasion of '75th Anniversary of Hoisting of Tricolour' for the first time by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at Port Blair".

Subhash Chandra Bose, freedom fighter who founded the Indian National Army (INA) hoisted the Tricolour for the first time at Cellular Jail, Port Blair on December 30, 1943.
