Hima is working hard to qualify for the World Championship but still short of the qualifying mark for 400m but in 200m she is a certainty.

However, in the 400 m event, the coach and the team management are focusing hard as in the 200 m she is flying through the qualifying mark.

But is she can return to her personal best in 400m, which she achieved in Jakarta, she will qualify for the World Athletic Championship to be played at Doha from September 28, 2019.

In the 200m event, Hima is almost certain to make it to Doha as she is just 5 microseconds short and in the next few races she would achieve that, her team management said.

In regard of 400 m too, her coach and managers are confidentthat she will be able to qualify in the Championship as she has almost a monthand half to achieve that during which she would be running at least two races.

The last date of the window of qualification to Doha World Athletic Meet is September 6, 2019 which gives almost 45 days to Hima to shed 30 microseconds to clinch a spot.

She clocked  50.79 atJakarta Asian games in 2018 and if she could achieve that she would automaticallyqualify for the World Championship.

But the sports lovers across the country while celebratingHima Das's fifth gold in last one month are baffled why the Indian athletes arenot allowed to participate in more competitive Diamond League circuit even ifHima is clocking impressive timings.

The IAAF Diamond League is an annual series of elite trackand field athletic competitions. The series began with the 2010 IAAF DiamondLeague. It was designed to replace the IAAF Golden League, which had been heldannually since 1998.

As on today, it is being held at London where top athletesfrom across the world including Hima's main rival Salwa Eid Nasser from Bahrainis competing.

On the contrary, Indian athletes are allowed to run in lesscompetitive East European events of Poland and the Czech Republic where most ofthe participants are from India and competition is not very intense andinternational.

The sources close to the team informed unofficially thatteam was deliberately held back as their timings were not up to theInternational standard to participate in Diamond league.
