India: COVID-19 recoveries passes one-million mark

The Indian Health Ministry on Friday informed that COVID-19 recoveries have crossed the one-million mark in the country.

The officer on Special Duty in Health Ministry said," The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients increased from 7.85 per cent in April to 64.44 per cent at present, and added, "The recoveries are 1.9 times the number of active cases of COVID-19".

Effective clinical management led to a decline in the COVID-19 case fatality rate from 3.33 percent on the June 18 to 2.21 percent yesterday. The official further said, due to enhanced testing infrastructure, on an average of 4 lakh 68 thousand 263 COVID-19 tests conducted daily from the 26th to the 30th of July. More than 6 lakh tests were done in 24 hours.
