India is a ‘Hindu Rashtra’: BJP’s Ravi Kishan

Actor-turned politician, RaviKishan on Wednesday said that India is a 'Hindu Rashtra' as nearly 100 crore Hinduslive in the country. His comments came after Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) wascleared by the cabinet for tabling in parliament.

"The population of Hindusis 100 crore. So obviously India is a Hindu Rashtra. There are so many Muslimand Christian countries. It is amazing that we have a country called 'Bharat'to keep alive our culture," the actor was quoted as saying by ANI.

"If there can be Muslim and Christian countries, why can't be a Hindu country," the Gorakhpur BJP MP asked. He further added that the opposition parties have gone mad over the CAB.

It may be mentioned herethat the opposition alleged that the bill targets Muslims and is at odds withthe secular principles enshrined in the constitution as it excludes acommunity.
