India successfully tests nuclear capable long range Ballistic missile Agni-5

India on Sunday successfully test-fired their Agni-5 missiles from the Abdul Kalam Wheeler Island off the Odisha coast. The missile, developed indigenously by India, is a nuclear capable Long Range Ballistic Missile.

The Agni-5 missile has a strike range of 5,000 km and is a surface-to-surface state-of-the-art missile developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

The missile is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead of more than one tone in weight.

For the successful test firing of the Agni- 5 missile, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has congratulated all the DRDO Scientists, Staff, Armed Forces and Industries related throughout the process.
