JeM Terrorist Arrested

The special cell of Delhi police on Tuesday arrested a suspected member of terrorist group Jaish -e Mohammed (JeM) from Srinagar.

The arrested terrorist has been identified as Basir Ahamad.

It may be mentioned here that the police were on the lookout for the JeM terrorist and he was even carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh.

Police informed that Basir Ahamad was arrested in 2007 in an encounter with Delhi Police. However, he was acquitted by a lower court.

Ahamad was later sentenced by the High Court. He was out on bail and had not been appearing in court since then.

A non-bailable warrant was issued against Basir Ahamad, leading to the Delhi Police arresting him on Tuesday.

Two of his accomplices identified as Faiz and Majid Baba were also arrested by the police.
