Pratidin Bureau

Celebrating the first Independence Day following the scrapping of Article 370 ending the special status to Jammu and Kashmir, Governor Satya Pal Malik hoisted the National Flag at the Sher-e-Kashmir stadium in Srinagar this morning.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was also present at the event today.

After unfurling the Tricolour, Malik inspected the parade of para-military forces and Jammu and Kashmir Police.

While addressing the gathering at the event, the Governor said that the people of the region had nothing to worry about their identity after the recent steps taken by the Centre to abrogate Article 370.
