A militant was killed during an encounter that broke out between the security forces and militants in the wee hours of Sunday morning at Shopore in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Kashmir police informed that they had initiated a cordon and search operation in the Reban area of Shopore town but retaliation between the security forces and the militants turned into an encounter during which a militant was killed.
